It’s possible for tourists to actually visit Windsor Castle. While you can see the outside part of the structure at any time, during March to October you can actually take a tour inside. The doors open at 9:30 am on most days of the year and close at 5:30 pm. The times are slightly different in the winter, from 9:45 pm to 4:15 pm from November to March.
You’ll want to see the changing of the guard, which happens every day from 11:00 to 11:30 am. It’s recommended that visiting the castle is best after lunch on weekdays, if you don’t wish to see the changing of the guards, as it’s quite a popular tourist destination and can become crowded.
